Search Engine Optimization

Let’s be honest
when performing a Google search, how often will you click on the second or third page of the Google search results?
Probably not very often.
Showing up on the first page of a search is HUGE for any business. In fact, studies show that more than 90% of people never click on the second page of Google search results. That’s a lot of potential customers a business can miss out on!

This is where SEO comes in!
SEO stands for ‘Search Engine Optimization’, which is the process of getting traffic from free, organic, and natural search results in search engines. It aims to improve your website’s position on search results pages. The higher our website is listed, the more people will see it.
For Beacon House Thrift Shop, this would ideally mean that when the user goes to a search engine and types in “Thrift Stores in Long Beach” or “Thrift Stores in San Pedro” or even “Best Thrift Stores Near Me” we would show up on the first page of the search.
A websites SEO is determined through a few different things:
  • A Secure and Accessible Website
  • Page Speed (Including Mobile Page Speed)
  • Mobile (Phone)  Friendliness
  • Domain Age, URL, and Authority
  • Optimized Content
  • Keywords On Your Webpages
  • User Experience
  • Internal and External Links
  • Social Media Signals
  • Real Business Information
As you can see, there is a lot that goes into the process of Search Engine Optimization, and it is a highly competitive part of marketing that is constantly evolving. In digital marketing, it is imperative that you strive to have the best possible SEO for your business.
While Beacon House Thrift Shop may not always be on the first page for every thrift store search, we’ll always keep trying.

Just like in Recovery, we always have room for improvement and must continue to do better!
